June 4 – The Philippines on Thursday recorded 634 new infections with the Corona virus and 10 other deaths.

The Philippine Ministry of Health said in a statement that it increased the total number of cases to 20,382 cases, while the number of deaths rose to 984 cases.

The ministry added that 95 patients recovered, bringing the number of people recovering to 4,248, benefiting that they were allowed to all go back to their homes.
Among the new cases, 313 were classified as “recent” while 321 were “late” from the accumulation of previous tests.

They noted that nearly half of the new cases were registered in the Manila metropolitan area while 32 percent were in the central (Visayas) region.
For her part, Philippine Undersecretary of Health Maria Rosario explained that the deaths today were also related to acute respiratory diseases.
Rosario said the death rate due to the “emerging corona” virus has decreased in the country, saying “This is a small victory for us.”

The Philippine authorities have loosened most of the restrictions imposed on the country to control the virus by allowing public transport to operate and some commercial sectors to be opened since the beginning of this June.
