Data from the Federal Ministry of Health in India showed that the country recorded the largest increase in cases of emerging corona virus in one day, as it added today 11,458 confirmed cases today, raising the total there to over 300,000.


India currently has the fourth worst outbreak of the disease in the world after numbers exceeded its counterpart in Britain on Friday.
The number of cases of the disease continues to increase despite general isolation measures imposed throughout the country in late March, but have since been mitigated.


Data on Saturday showed that the number of confirmed corona cases in Maharashtra, which is experiencing the worst outbreak in India, has crossed the 100,000 mark.


The capital, New Delhi, where the health system suffers from the spread of the disease, recorded more than two thousand new cases.
On Friday, the federal government said the recovery rate had improved with more than 147,000 cures, despite the burden of increasing cases.
