The Arabic local news paper Alqabs reported that Sthe General Administration of Residency Affairs decided to stop transferring the children’s residency to their mothers in the event that the father left the country permanently or his residency ended and he is outside the country or even in the event of his death.

The sources said that the directors of the residence affairs departments in the six governorates received these instructions, the day before yesterday, and informed the heads of departments and employees not to receive transactions related to transferring the residences of their children to the sponsorship of their mothers residing in the country in the specified cases.

The sources pointed to the exclusion of 3 categories from that decision, which are: female resident teachers working in the Ministry of Education, workers in the Medical and Nursing Authority of the Ministry of Health, and female doctors working in the General Department of Criminal Evidence, where they are entitled to sponsor their children for their residency without others from the other residents. According to the sources, the decision comes within the framework of re-arranging the foreigners’ residency in the country, and aims to amend the demographics, noting that it was also stopped transferring visits of children who entered the country with visit visas before the Corona pandemic to residency in accordance with Article 22 (joining a family) on their parents , Which was previously permitted.
