The Director General of the Kuwaiti Ports Association and Chairman of the Arab Ports Federation, Sheikh Yusef Abdullah Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, confirmed on Wednesday that the corporation supports the port of Beirut in his injury, indicating that it will not delay in providing the necessary assistance if requested to do so. Technology and Maritime Transport, said in a press statement that the Arab Ports Union will discuss in its emergency meeting the best ways to provide all kinds of assistance needed by Beirut Port. He added that the tragic incident that occurred in the port of Beirut extended its repercussions to Kuwait through the feelings of Kuwaitis recalling Lebanon’s stance against the aggression and injustice against Kuwait during the brutal Iraqi invasion. He pointed out that the supreme directives of His Highness, Deputy Prince and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect him, by sending urgent medical assistance to the brothers in Lebanon to face the effects of the huge explosion on the port of Beirut, embodying the spirit of brotherhood and mutual cooperation towards the brothers in Lebanon.

He offered his deepest condolences to the families of the victims, who work in the port and the Lebanese citizens, each in a location, wishing the speedy recovery to the injured. He explained that the Beirut port represents the vital economic artery in the eastern Mediterranean and the distinguished strategic location that represents the meeting point of the three continents, Asia, Europe and Africa, as it is the crossing and corridor for most merchant ships. He described the accident as a “catastrophe” that will inevitably affect the volume of Lebanese exports and imports, the impact of food stocks, and a scarcity of basic materials due to the destruction in warehouses and warehouses in the port.
