KUNA – Minister of Justice and Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Counselor Dr. Fahd Al-Afasy announced Friday that the General Secretariat of Endowments will donate one million US dollars to provide medical equipment, equipment and materials to support the brotherly Lebanese people, in coordination with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health. Al-Afasy said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency that this donation comes in implementation of the directives of His Highness the Deputy Emir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, to provide urgent humanitarian aid to the brotherly Lebanese people to face the repercussions of the disaster left by the explosion of Beirut Port.
He explained that this donation also comes within the assistance provided by Kuwait to Lebanon From the first moments of the explosion, based on the humanitarian role of Kuwait towards brotherly and friendly countries through solidarity and support in times of adversity and crisis. He pointed out that the donation also comes as a continuation of Kuwait’s approach to standing by Lebanon in all circumstances and a translation of its policy to be proactive in supporting the Lebanese brothers.
He stated that the General Secretariat of Endowments always seeks to provide and support relief efforts for the afflicted and affected countries, individuals and Islamic societies, and to provide relief to the needy peoples wherever they are when disasters and tribulations befall them.
