ANKARA, Sept 30 (KUNA) — Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Wednesday that Kuwait’s late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was a heavyweight in the region, who had the respect and admiration of the global community.
“He made great efforts to find solutions to the region’s crises. He had wisdom and played the role of mediator between the countries involved in the Gulf crisis,” the minister told KUNA of the late ruler.
Sheikh Sabah was extremely devoted to issues in the Islamic region, being a close friend of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, by whom he was respected and liked, added the minister.
Ankara will always have a deep respect for the late Amir because of his positions, which he never deviated from due to his principles.
Earlier, Cavusoglu said he had extended his condolences to his Kuwaiti counterpart, Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, expressing keenness to attend funeral proceedings
